Wallaceburg man arrested for shoving someone while retrieving his pet

A 42-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with assault after he got a little too pushy when he was going to retrieve his pet.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to a home in Blenheim shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday and learned that the man had shown up at a home in town there to get his pet back.

Police said the man allegedly forced his way into the house and pushed an individual out of the way -- both on his way in and on his way out -- causing the victim to lose their balance.

Officers said they found the man a short distance away and arrested him.

He was charged with assault and was taken to the Blenheim police station before he was released with conditions and a future court date.

Wallaceburg man arrested after break-in

A 32-year-old Wallaceburg man is accused of breaking into an ice melt company in his hometown.

Chatham-Kent police said they were notified of a break-and-enter in progress at North Element on Garnet Street in Wallaceburg just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Witnesses were able to provide police with a description of the suspect and the direction he was last seen heading.

Officers said they found the man while he was running away from the scene and took him into custody.

He was charged with break-and-enter and was taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

E-bike and chainsaws targeted during Wheatley break-in

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers is putting out a call for tips after someone stole approximately $4,500 worth of property from an address on Talbot Trail in Wheatley.

Crime Stoppers said an e-bike and some chainsaws were taken during the break-in, which took place sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, November 25.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1800-222-8477.
