St. Angela Merici School selects childcare provider

Chatham-Kent's newest school officially has its childcare provider.

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board announced on Monday that the Ridge K.I.D.S Daycare will provide childcare for St. Angela Merici Catholic School.

The new school is on track to open for September 2020 and is located on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.

“The Ontario government has dedicated funding for the expansion of new child care spaces throughout the province and is committed to improving access to affordable, high-quality child care,” said Kelly Emery, director of Child Care and Early Years for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. “We are fortunate to have these 33 additional child care spaces at St. Angela Merici Catholic School, which will assist with our current waitlist.”

Ridge K.I.D.S. will operate a fully licensed child care program for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, along with an extended day program for kindergarten children and a before and after program for students in Grade 1 and higher.

“We are pleased to have been selected as the childcare provider for this beautiful new school,” says Sue Jennings, Director of Ridge K.I.D.S. Daycare. “We have an excellent partnership with St. Clair Catholic and are looking forward to serving the needs of this new community.”
