Man arrested twice within hours

A 24-year-old Chatham man spent some time with police twice in the same night.

It started around 7 p.m. Saturday when police went to a parking lot on Wellington Street. They found a man in control of a vehicle who had allegedly consumed alcohol.

He was arrested and taken to the police station for breathalyzers, which registered over the legal limit.

His driver's licence was seized and suspended for three months. In addition, his vehicle was impounded for a week.

However, it didn't stop there.

Shortly after the man was released, police got a call about a disturbance in the downtown Chatham area.
