Freezing drizzle is expected to swoop in this afternoon ahead of what Environment Canada is calling a "sloppy" weekend.
Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says temperatures will climb towards the freezing mark throughout the day.
"[There] could be flurry activity in some areas where it's just cold enough to have it come down as light snow, but in other areas we could see it come down as freezing drizzle," says Coulson.
There's a chance for rain mid-day Friday as temperatures are expected to climb to 3 C (37 F). The warm air combined with some rain will melt some of the snow creating those "sloppy" conditions.
Coulson says residents shouldn't get too comfortable with the seasonal temperatures expected tomorrow.
"In fact, after that system moves through late Friday we are going to see the temperature start to dip again," he says. "Daytime high on Saturday expected to be about -2 C (28 F) and then things cool off even further as we get into Sunday and Monday of next week."
