Spitfires lose third straight to Kitchener, Game 7 needed to decide winner

The Windsor Spitfires only have one more chance to advance to the Western Conference final.

The team was in Kitchener on Sunday for Game 6 of the seven game series, with the Rangers winning 4-0. This is Kitchener's third straight win after the Spitfires won the first three games.

Neither team was able to score in the first period, combining for just 14 shots.

Opening the scoring in the second period was Kitchener's Cameron Mercer.

Roughly six minutes later, Jack Pridham was given a penalty shot after being interfered with by Spitfires defenseman Wyatt Kennedy. He was able to beat Joey Costanzo, doubling Kitchener's lead.

Pridham would add another goal in the third period before Andrew Vermeulen capped the scoring for Kitchener.

Costanzo made 27 saves in the loss.

The series will be decided in Windsor on Tuesday, April 22. Puck drop for Game 7 will be at 7:05 p.m.
