Windsor Express Trades Commons For Herring Jr.

The Windsor Express is trading forward Chris Commons to the Saint John Mill Rats for guard Doug Herring Jr. Commons has been with the Express since 2012. The club made the announcement Saturday morning, saying Commons was key in helping bring two NBL Canada championships to Windsor in 2014 and 2015. In a press release, Head Coach Bill Jones says he wishes Commons and his family well in their future endeavours. "It was a joy to have Chris on our team for the past 4 seasons," says Jones. "He'll go down as one of the best players to ever wear an Express jersey." Herring Jr. is considered a veteran NBL player, having played two seasons in Saint John. In 2014, he had been named an NBL all-star after averaging 18 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. Last season he averaged 16.2 points per game.
