In their first step towards an NBL Championship three-peat, the Windsor Express showed the league's newest team they've experienced the playoffs before.
The Express topped the Niagara River Lions 95-80 to take game one of their first round playoff series.
After a close first quarter, Windsor locked down its defence in the second, outscoring Niagara 28-11. The River Lions would get the lead down to eight, but no closer.
Brandon Robinson led the way for the Express with a double-double, scoring a game-high 27 points and chipping in 10 rebounds. Three other Windsor players would score in double figures, including Kirk Williams Jr. who had 15 points and nine rebounds.
Game two of the series goes Wednesday night at 7:30pm at the WFCU Centre.
