Lancers Learning From Mistakes

The University of Windsor Lancers football team is looking for its first win of the season, as it hosts the Carleton Ravens today.

Head Coach Joe D'Amore says it's been a learning process for some players through the first two weeks.

"The quarterback position's new -- we've got two young guys in that spot. They shared some duties the first week. Casey (Wright) played the whole game against (the University of) Toronto. He played well, made some good throws, (but) he's still making some mental mistakes," explains the coach. "His decision-making process is something we're trying to work through."

D'Amore says Carleton is a very athletic team with some gifted players on offence.

He's hoping his team can put some points on the board early to gain some confidence and hold the Ravens off the rest of the way.

A crowd of about 4,000-5,000 is expected at Alumni Field at 1pm, as it's Frosh Week at UWindsor.
