Ontario has beaten the Atlantic District 9-3 in their first game of the Big League Canadian Championship in Calgary.
On Saturday, both teams were neck and and neck in the first three innings, but Ontario pulled ahead in the fourth with two runs to bring them ahead 5-3. Four more runs in the final three innings sealed their win.
Shortstop Adam Pickel led Ontario's team with two runs off of three hits and three RBI. Dimitri Shinas pitched the winning game for Ontario.
Ontario District 5 is represented by a little league team based in Windsor.
Ontario takes on D8 Host on Sunday.
