NBLC Commissioner Calls On Windsor To Boost Attendance

The National Basketball League of Canada Commissioner Dave Magley didn't mince words when talking about his expectations for Windsor Express attendance numbers.

"You're wonderful hometown fans that love your Express and I think that's awesome, but there's not enough of you," says Magley.

"Having won its second-straight NBL of Canada championship with just three years in the league, Windsor shouldn't have trouble averaging at least 2,000 fans per game," Magley says.

One concern raised at the town hall meeting held at the WFCU Centre, home of the Express, was that its location might not be conducive to bringing in large crowds, as opposed to a downtown location.

"That's going to be a conversation that needs to happen with the city (of Windsor) about how can we best make this venue not only home for a long time. but a home that we can survive in and get to sustainability pretty quickly," he says.
