E.C. Row a frequent scene of crashes in 2026, say Windsor police

Windsor police have noted an increase in collisions in both the City and Amherstburg.

As drivers prepare to hit the road for errands or to see loved ones on Thanksgiving weekend, Windsor police have released a list of the five most crash-prone intersections so far in 2026.

E.C. Row Expressway appears three times. The intersections are listed in order as follows.

  • Banwell Road and E.C. Row Expressway

  • Ouellette Avenue and Tecumseh Road

  • Lauzon Parkway and Tecumseh Road East

  • Dougall Avenue and E.C. Row Expressway

  • E.C. Row Expressway and Walker Road

So far this year, over 5,500 crashes have been reported in Windsor and Amherstburg, with 910 of them resulting in injuries, a 45.8 per cent increase from the same period in 2025.

Nine people have died so far this year, with four of those fatalities since the end of September.

Windsor police say road safety is everyone's responsibility.

"Motorists are reminded to stay alert, obey posted speed limits, avoid distractions, and allow enough time to react to changing traffic conditions," read a social media post from Windsor police. "Please drive responsibly and help keep yourself and others safe on our roads."
