The Windsor Essex County Association of Realtors has released its data for September, and it shows a sizeable drop in listings and sales.
Housing sales fell 17.55 per cent last month compared to September 2025. While last year, realtors closed deals on 433 properties, they sold 357 homes in September.
So far this year, sold signs have gone up on 3,640 properties, a drop of 5.92 per cent, compared to the same period last year when 3,869 properties sold.
Market activity is down too.
In September, the number of properties listed for sale fell from 1,307 to 1,104, a decrease of 12.78 per cent. So far this year, listings have dropped 4.29 per cent.
At the time the association published its sales figures for September, there were 1,289 properties listed on the market.
The average price of a home in Windsor-Essex also dropped in September, down 3.94 per cent, from $584,455 to $561,421.
So far this year, the average price of a home in the region has fallen 4.29 per cent.
