The City of Windsor is asking for patience as crews work to clean up trees and debris left from last week's severe weather.
The city has recorded over 1,000 calls for service requests for downed trees impacting a municipal right-of-way. It's expected to take "several weeks" for the city's Forestry Department and contracted crews to address all of the requests.
The City of Windsor will pick up properly prepared storm-related tree waste with regular yard waste pickup this week. Residents are asked to limit branches to 4 feet, limit the thickness of branches to no more than 4 inches, limit the weight to 44 pounds, and tie tree branches together if possible.
Additional tree waste collection will be scheduled the week of September 14. More details will be released later this week.
The city also advises that Windsor 311 is still experiencing higher-than-normal call volumes, which could impact wait times. The mobile app and online portal are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
