Charges filed after kids assaulted at Windsor lemonade stand

Windsor police say a woman is facing charges after allegedly attacking two children who were operating a lemonade stand.

Officers were called to Gladstone Avenue near Niagara Street in Walkerville at around 9 p.m. on the Civic Holiday, Monday, August 3.

They learned that a 13-year-old boy and an eight-year-old boy set up a lemonade stand at the corner of Gladstone and Niagara when a woman approached them and became irate.

The woman allegedly shoved one child, then flipped the other's chair, causing him to hit the ground. Both suffered minor injuries.

Police arrested the woman later that evening at a home on Niagara Street near Pierre Avenue.

The 61-year-old woman is charged with two counts of assault.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.
