Windsor Regional Hospital pediatrics department is getting some much needed equipment thanks to this year's donation from W.E. Care for Kids.
The hospital received $268,628.12 from the foundation to purchase a jaundice meter, two pediatrics ventilators and other surgical equipment designed specifically for children.
"It is really a tool for our teams to be able to have a seamless approach to caring for those vulnerable babies and children here at the hospital,' said President and CEO Kristin Kennedy. "It's just so important from an efficiency perspective as well as an ease of care perspective."
This year the W.E. Care for Kids Foundation was supported by the Fortis Group annual golf tournament and the Tim Horton's Smile Cookie campaign.
"That really gave us a big boost that enabled us to give a little bit extra this year, which was amazing," said Viki Grado.
All of the funds were given to buy specific equipment identified as a need by staff at the hospital.
