Youth in Windsor-Essex have the opportunity to Say Yes to the Prom Dress on Friday and Saturday.
All dresses and suits are available free of charge for youth in the community through the event hosted by New Beginnings Windsor-Essex.
"Donations were incredible this year. We probably brought in close to 500 dresses, and that's adding to what we had still remaining from our event last year. We were able to hang on to some good stuff from last year as well," said Executive Director Stacey Yannacopoulos. "We have a really good collection of dresses and suits to offer this year."
New Beginnings has been hosting the event for the last 15 years to help remove barriers and allow youth to experience important milestones like prom and graduation stress free.
"We're seeing prices skyrocket on everything, including dresses and suits, and it's just not attainable and not affordable for a huge amount of youth and families," said Yannacopoulos.
Youth are invited to the event on Highland Avenue from 2 -7 p.m. on March 27 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 28.
"We don't ask any questions, there's no ID necessary or any proof of income, nothing like that. Just come, bring your family, make it an enjoyable experience and we have tons of staff and volunteers to help," said Yannacopoulos.
Last year, the organization distributed close to 500 dresses and suits.
