Windsor police say one person has been arrested on illicit drug charges, and two more were charged during a break-in attempt in a separate incident.
Members of the Drugs and Guns (DIGS) Unit arrested a 42-year-old man on Thursday on Ouellette Avenue near Eugenie Street. A warrant was then obtained for a house on Factoria Road near Milloy Street.
The search uncovered hydromorphone tablets and capsules, Suboxone tablets, methadone, cocaine, oxycodone, amphetamine tablets, three replica firearms, a prohibited knife, and $308,900 in cash.
With the value of the drugs, the seizure came out to $440,000.
The suspect is charged with possession with intent to sell, two counts of possessing a weapon with knowledge of non-authorization, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm, and possession of stolen property.
In a related incident, police were called early Friday morning back to the Factoria Road house on a report of gunshots and an attempted break-and-enter.
At least four people were seen running from the area, but police caught up with and arrested two of them. Both are charged with attempted break-and-enter.
In addition, a 23-year-old man is charged with discharging a firearm into a dwelling, possession of a prohibited firearm without a licence, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, and a Firearms Act Regulation infraction.
Two others are being sought with a connection to the attempted break-in.
The charges have not been proven in court.
