LaSalle police chief addresses narratives about homicide

LaSalle's police chief has set the record straight on information circulating about the town's first murder since 2022.

Chief Michael Pearce issued a statement on Thursday after theories about the motive and misinformation began making the rounds on social media.

Nancy Grewal, 45, was found with serious stab wounds on Todd Lane on Tuesday night. She was rushed to hospital, where she soon succumbed to her injuries.

"While we recognize the significant public interest in this case, we will not share information that will compromise the investigation, including leads, tips, and investigative avenues," said Pearce in his statement.

Pearce added that investigators are convinced that this was a targeted act.

"Ms. Grewal’s murder is being investigated as an intentional act against her. All information is being considered," said Pearce.

Anyone with information or questions about the case should contact LaSalle police directly.

People with tips or security camera footage to share should call Detective Sergeant Jamie Nestor at (519) 969-5210 extension 2531.

Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
