Suspect facing multiple break-and-enter and fraud charges

A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a break-in at a Windsor house last week.

Officers were called to a residential break-and-enter at around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 5.

Someone entered the house through an unlocked bedroom window and stole items that included a $200 cheque, an electric bicycle, two laptop computers, and a karaoke speaker.

The Windsor police's Target Base Unit identified a suspect, who allegedly cashed the stolen cheque and made unauthorized purchases.

On Saturday, the suspect was arrested during a traffic stop on Riverside Drive East near Riverdale Avenue.

He is charged with three counts of fraud under $5,000, two counts of unauthorized use of a credit card, possession of stolen property under $5,000, break and enter to commit an offence, and failure to comply with a release order.

The charges have not been proven in court.
