A girl named Favour Jesuseum Josiah is the first baby born in Windsor in 2026.
The infant daughter of Grace Babasemi and Temitote Josiah was born at Windsor Regional Hospital at 2:53 a.m. Thursday. She was seven pounds, one ounce and measuring 19.7 inches (50 cm) long.
Favour is the fourth child of Grace and Temitote, who also have a five-year-old son and two daughters, one three-years-old and the other 18 months.
“I was so excited to have the first New Year’s baby – she’s already bringing so much joy,” said Grace. “She’s so adorable, so beautiful.”
Temitote was also born on New Year's Day in his native Nigeria.
“It’s an amazing coincidence. She couldn’t wait to join daddy,” Grace said.
Temitote wanted to give special thanks to God and to Windsor, the family’s new home community.
“Windsor is the best – it’s been just so good for our family,” he said.
