If you live in Essex and want to know more about the Drainage Act and its role in managing drains, there's an upcoming open house.
"Municipal drains play a vital role in supporting our local agriculture and protecting private property," said Essex Mayor Sherry Bondy.
The town is inviting residents to the informal, drop-in style event on Wednesday, November 26, at the Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre.
The event is an opportunity for those living in rural and agricultural areas of Essex to speak directly with town staff and gain a better understanding of how the legislation impacts their properties.
There won't be a formal presentation, but residents are encouraged to drop by between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. that evening.
