Windsor's mayor says building the city's future requires a continued focus on investment, growth, and sustainability that keeps affordability top of mind as residents face continued inflation and cost-of-living challenges.
With that in mind, Drew Dilkens has directed city staff to prepare a proposed budget with a zero per cent increase in the tax levy.
Dilkens wants the budget to maintain funding for Windsor's Asset Management Plan and ten-year capital plan, which includes road rehabilitation and repairs.
The budget for 2025 was finalized in February with a 2.98 per cent increase. It included $312.7-million in capital investments. The capital budget included $856.8-million for roads, $485.2-million for sewers, and $182-million for transportation.
This year's Operating and Capital budgets must be tabled no later than February 1, 2026.
