UPDATE: Windsor police release video of suspect in Thanksgiving fire

The Windsor Police Service's Arson Unit has joined the investigation into a fire on Monday in the city.

Windsor Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at a business on Tecumseh Road East near Cadillac Street, at around 10 a.m. Thanksgiving Monday.

The fire was quickly put out. No one was hurt, but damage was estimated at $175,000 to the building and neighbouring structures.

Investigators found a fire accelerant at the scene, and the Windsor police arson unit took over the probe.

Surveillance video of a man seen on the property at the time of the fire has been released.

He is described as a middle-aged male with a large build and slightly above-average height. He was wearing dark clothing, including a jacket, pants, and running shoes.

Residents and business owners in the area are also being asked to check any security footage between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Monday, and to call police if anything unusual is found.
