Two arrested, 53 grams of fentanyl seized in west Windsor raid

Windsor police say two men have been arrested following a raid at a west-end motel.

Officers from the Drugs and Guns (DIGS) Enforcement Unit arrested one man at around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday on Huron Church Road near Kenora Street, while conducting a firearms investigation.

The man was searched, and police found a firearm, 2.1 grams of fentanyl, $151 in Canadian cash, $2,100 in counterfeit cash, and a cellphone.

A search warrant was then executed at a nearby motel, where a second man was found. There, police confiscated 51.5 grams of fentanyl, two more cellphones, and additional evidence.

Both men, a 42-year-old and a 37-year-old, have been charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to sell.

In addition, the 42-year-old is charged with possession of a prohibited firearm without a licence, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, careless use of a firearm, possession of counterfeit money, and failure to comply with a probation order.

The 37-year-old also had an outstanding warrant for breaching a conditional sentence order.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.
