City planning improvements to two parks

The City of Windsor is looking for feedback on the future of two area parks.

The playground equipment in the Optimist Memorial Park in South Walkerville is scheduled for replacement next year and the city wants to hear from the community before the design work begins.

An online survey has been launched to help make decisions on playground features, design elements and potential themes.

The city also wants feedback on the future of the Ryan Barron Memorial Skate Park in Ernest Atkinson Park. Community members have been fundraising for improvements to the park in honour or Ryan Barron, a community advocate who passed away in 2016.

City Council approved to match funds to the donation funds to improve the park. Donations are still being accepted and the final scope of the work will depend on the total raised.

The city has launched a survey to help guide decision-making on improvements to the skate park.

Both surveys will be open until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025.
