Three groups split $10,500 raised by the Run With Responders

The three Windsor-Essex organizations supported by a five-kilometre run this summer received their cheques on Friday.

This year's Run With Responders 5K run, which featured 400 runners and walkers in a first responder-themed run, raised $10,500.

The charities selected were the Canadian Mental Health Association of Windsor and Essex County Branch (CMHA-WECB), the Windsor Firefighters Benefit Fund, and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario. Each received $3,500.

The Run With Responders 5K was run along the Windsor riverfront on July 27. It included five-kilometre and one-kilometre options, as well as a Kids Dash.

Members of the Windsor Police Service, Windsor Fire and Rescue Services, and the Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) also participated.
