Unifor Local 195, representing bus drivers in Windsor-Essex, has reached a tentative agreement with First Student Inc.
The company issued a letter earlier this week saying that drivers would be locked out on September 15, 2025 if a deal was not reached.
Officials confirmed reports that an agreement was reached on Thursday.
"We are pleased to confirm that First Student has reached a tentative agreement with Unifor Local 195 representing our Windsor-Essex school bus drivers," said Brenna Rudisill, manager of strategic communications.
WindsorNewsToday.ca has reached out to the union but it has not responded.
Unifor Local 195 represents bus drivers in Windsor-Essex for the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board, the Greater Essex County District School Board, and CSC Providence.
