Fraud suspect turns himself in

A man wanted in connection with a $130,000 fraud turned himself in to the Windsor Police headquarters.

Last week, a warrant was issued for the 27-year-old man.

Windsor police reported he was wanted after a report of a large-scale fraud at a currency exchange business on Dougall Avenue. He allegedly exchanged $138,000 Canadian for $100,000 U.S. After the funds were handed over, the Canadian transfer was cancelled.

He is facing charges of fraud over $5,000, obtaining funds by false pretence, uttering a forged passport, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of an identification document of another, identity theft, and identity fraud.
