Suspect charged in west Windsor break-in, second suspect at-large

Windsor police say a juvenile has been arrested and a second suspect is being sought in connection with an armed robbery two weeks ago.

Two men wearing ski masks chased two young people away from a Huron Church Road restaurant at around 9 p.m. on Monday, August 4.

Police reported that one victim was assaulted while the other suspect allegedly pointed a gun at him and demanded his shoes and jewellery. The victim suffered minor injuries.

The suspects took off on foot with the stolen items.

Windsor police say a 14-year-old turned himself in to police headquarters on Wednesday.

He is charged with armed robbery, careless use of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon. He can not be identified under the Ontario Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The second suspect is still at large. He is described as a Middle Eastern male with curly black hair, a very thin mustache, wearing a white t-shirt, white and blue Jordan shoes, a black side bag, and ripped jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Windsor Police Service Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4830. They can also contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS).
