LaSalle lifts week-old outdoor burn ban

Residents in LaSalle may now enjoy outdoor fires again following a change in weather conditions.

LaSalle Fire and Rescue on Tuesday lifted the open burn ban that had been in place since Monday, August 11, when Windsor-Essex was in the midst of a heat warning accompanied by very dry conditions.

Fire officials have taken this opportunity to remind residents of how to burn safely.

Fires should be set at least five metres away from structures, and three metres away from adjacent property lines.

Acceptable materials that can be used are charcoal, briquettes, small pieces of cardboard, natural wood byproducts, and purchased fire logs.

Complete guidelines can be found on the LaSalle Fire Service's official website.
