Driver charged after late-night collision

A 39-year-old woman is facing charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash Saturday night.

Windsor police report they responded to the crash around 11:30 p.m. in the area of McDougall Street and Giles Boulevard. When they arrived on the scene, they found a vehicle with rear-end damage and learned the second driver had left.

After speaking with witnesses, officers found the second vehicle at a home on Wellington Avenue.

The driver was taken into custody for failing to remain at the scene. After being transported to police headquarters, she allegedly failed a breath test.

The 39-year-old was charged with impaired driving, failure to remain at the scene of a collision, and careless driving.
