Amherstburg man walks away with $103K

A local chef served up a bet on a lottery ticket, and walked away with six figures.

Cody Northgrave won a second prize of $103,242.40 by playing in the Lotto 6/49 draw on May 17.

The 37-year-old Amherstburg man picked up his cheque at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

"One morning, before grabbing a coffee, I scanned my ticket using the OLG app on my phone," said Northgrave. "I was shocked looking at the prize amount. It was unbelievable."

Northgrave has been playing for 15 years, with Lotto 6/49 and Lottario his go-to games.

He plans to use the winnings to travel and save for the future. The winning ticket was purchased at Lynn’s Variety on Richmond Street in Amherstburg.
