Youth arrested for serious assault

Windsor police arrested and charged a 14-year-old after a serious assault last month.

Around 9 p.m. on June 20, officers were called to Riverfront Festival Plaza where a 16-year-old was unconscious because of an assault. The victim regained consciousness on the scene and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation revealed that the teen was involved with a physical altercation with a 14-year-old earlier in the night. Later, the 14-year-old allegedly assaulted the victim from behind, knocked him to the ground, and stomped on his head, rendering him unconscious.

The suspect was arrested on July 2 on Bruce Avenue. He is facing charges of assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats to cause death, and mischief under $5,000.
