Leamington driver cited for stunt driving on Canada Day

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have reminded drivers that officers are out patrolling roads every day of the year.

One officer was doing just that early Tuesday morning on Highway 3. A driver was clocked going 150 kilometres per hour in an 80 kilometre-per-hour zone.

A 22-year-old driver from Leamington has been cited for stunt driving, speeding at over 50 kilometres per hour over the speed limit, failure to provide a driver's licence, failure to provide a vehicle permit, and operating without insurance.

The vehicle was impounded, and the driver's licence has been suspended for 30 days.

They will have a chance to respond to the charges in court at a later date.
