CBSA stops 12 firearms from entering Canada at Southern border

CBSA officers in Southern Ontario seized 12 firearms, 8 magazines and 113 rounds of ammunition from U.S. residents trying to cross the border.

Officers at the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel and the Ambassador Bridge arrested six individuals related to firearm charges between June 11 and June 17. All of the U.S. residents paid a fine between $500 and $1,500 and were returned to the United States.

In one instance on June 17, officers seized a firearm, 29 rounds of ammunition, a prohibited knife and 7 grams of cannabis from a U.S. resident trying to enter Canada at the Ambassador Bridge.

At the tunnel on June 11, officers seized an over-capacity magazine and a firearm from a U.S. resident.
