Windsor police searching for suspect in break and enter, assault

A woman sustained minor injuries after someone allegedly broke into her south Windsor home early Sunday.

Police said just before 3 a.m. officers responded to the home at the intersection of Askin Avenue and Norfolk Street.

A man allegedly entered the home and assaulted a woman who was asleep at the time.

Police said she fought back and the suspect left after a brief struggle.

Officers and the canine unit searched the area but were unable to locate them.

The incident is believed to be isolated and targeted.

The Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.

Residents in the area are asked to check their dash cam or home surveillance footage between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.
