Pride flag stolen from Windsor home twice

The Windsor Police Service is asking for the public's help after a Pride flag was stolen from a home on two different occasions.

The flag was first stolen from the home on Moy Avenue near Riverside Drive on May 2. An investigation revealed a man approached the front porch and ripped down the home's Pride flag, breaking the flagpole in the process.

Police say a second flag was stolen from the same residence on June 13, 2025.

Officers describe the suspect as a Middle Eastern man with black Afro-style hair, and a short black beard and moustache. At the time of the first theft, he wore a grey hoodie and black track pants with white stripes.

Investigators ask residents and business owners in the area to check their surveillance footage from May 2 and June 13 between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. for evidence that may assist in the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4830. They can also contact Windsor & Essex County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at http://catchcrooks.com.
