Arson investigators probe Pierre Avenue fire, update on Pelissier fire

The Windsor Police Arson Unit is at the scene of a house fire early Monday morning on Pierre Avenue.

The home is between Richmond Street and Ontario Street and sustained approximately $100,000 in damages.

Windsor Fire and Rescue say the fire started on the outside of the garage, and that it was the second suspicious fire at the location within a week.

Meanwhile, officials at Windsor Fire and Rescue Services have an update on a fire last week on Pelissier Avenue.

They said the fire started on a mattress and caused $90,000 in damages.

A 43-year-old man who suffered life-threatening burns in the fire remains in the hospital in Hamilton, and two people were displaced.

The Ontario Fire Marshal is also investigating the fire.
