Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a motorcyclist is dead following a crash in the Town of Essex on Monday.
Police say the incident occurred shortly before noon on County Road 18, between County Road 15 and Rizzo Nicola Road. Few details are available, but the OPP say a motorcycle collided with a passenger vehicle.
The motorcyclist, who has not been identified, was rushed to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
As of 5:30 p.m. on Monday, County Road 18 was still closed between County Road 15 and Rizzo Nicola Road. It reopened on Tuesday morning.
The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) unit is assisting the Essex Detachment with the investigation.
