A LaSalle man will try public transit for 90 days after police say he refused transportation and drove impaired.

LaSalle police responded to a complaint Monday night from a business on Malden Road near Wyoming Avenue. They learned that a man refused an offer of a cab ride and drove away while allegedly impaired.

Officers found the vehicle soon after and began a traffic stop. The driver pulled into the driveway of a home.

The 32-year-old was arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood.

The charges have not been proven in court.
