She had been seen in the 1300 block of Hansen Crescent around 12:30 a.m.
Police announced on social media shortly before noon that the girl had been located and is safe.
Windsor police would like to thank the public for its help in resolving this matter.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
