Break-and-enter suspect arrested again following another string of crimes

A 46-year-old man has been rearrested by Windsor police a week after being released for a previous series of incidents.

The man was first arrested on November 7, suspected of 12 offences related to break-ins across the city. He had been released on court-imposed conditions.

On Thursday, November 14, police took a report about a black Cadillac XTS stolen from an address on Tecumseh Road East near Chilver. The vehicle was allegedly used in at least seven additional break-ins and attempted break-ins.

Total damage at the seven properties was estimated at $75,000, with $76,000 worth of items stolen.

It was determined that the crimes were allegedly committed by the same 46-year-old man, who was arrested again on Tuesday on Bernard Road near Guy Street.

He now faces six counts each of break-and-enter and possession of stolen property over $5,000. He also faces two counts each of wearing a disguise to commit an offence and attempted break-and-enter, as well as charges of possession of break-in tools and theft of a motor vehicle.

Charges stemming from both cases have not been proven in court.
