Few details are available, but firefighters were called at around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday to St. Thomas Crescent off Lesperance Road.
Loud hissing was reported to be coming from a main gas line.
Homes along that street were evacuated as a precaution. A crew from Enbridge Gas is on the scene to repair the leak.
