Intense lake effect snow squalls tonight into Wednesday.

Hazards:
Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 20 to 40 cm.
Peak snowfall rates of 5 to 10 cm per hour.
Reduced visibility at times in heavy snow and local blowing snow.

This evening through Wednesday afternoon.

Discussion:
Heavy lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron will continue tonight. Northwesterly winds gusting to 50 km/h may result in local blowing snow, predominantly for exposed areas near Lake Huron. Lake effect snow will weaken and move out of the area Wednesday afternoon.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Road closures are possible.

Police in LaSalle are hoping to return a suitcase to its rightful owner.Few details have been released, but police say somebody left a suitcase outside a store on Front Road near Riverview Avenue.If you recognize it, contact LaSalle Police Constable Keys at (519) 969-5210. Be ready to describe the contents.Police have also asked anyone who may have left the suitcase as a donation to let them know.
