Windsor police are investigating the drowning of a five-year-old girl.
Officers were called to a home on Barton Crescent around 9 p.m. Monday. When police arrived on scene, they recovered the child from the bottom of the home's backyard pool.
Officers and personnel from Windsor Fire and Rescue Services performed life-saving measures on the unresponsive child.
The child was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
It is the second tragic drowning of a child in the area in recent days. An infant drowned in a backyard pool in Harrow over the long weekend.
