Arrest made after woman critically hurt in Windsor

Windsor police have arrested a man after a woman suffered grave injuries over the weekend.

Officers responded to an injured-person report at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on Pillette Road near Grand Marais Road. They found a critically injured 36-year-old woman being treated by Essex-Windsor EMS.

The Major Crimes Unit determined that the injuries were allegedly the result of intimate partner violence, with an argument beginning inside a vehicle. When the victim got out, the suspect sped off, knocking her to the ground in the process.

The victim is still in critical condition in hospital.

The suspect was arrested Sunday afternoon at a home on Reginald Street.

He is charged with aggravated assault, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and failure to stop at a crash.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Anyone with information should call the Windsor police's Major Crimes Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
