Drugs seized during investigation in Leamington

The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crime Unit seized over $8,400 worth of illicit drugs during a recent investigation in Leamington.

On August 22, the OPP searched a home on Russell Street. They recovered $8,400 worth of illicit drugs, approximately $2,000 in recovered property and just under $300 in Canadian currency.

A 46-year-old Kingsville resident is facing several charges including careless storage of a firearm, possession of property obtained by crime, and possession of a controlled substance, namely cocaine, methamphetamine, and opioids for the purpose of trafficking.

The investigation is ongoing.
