A routine trip to the store ended up a little sweeter for two Tecumseh residents.
Paul Robinson and Shelley Oglan took part in the Ontario 49 draw on July 27, and won the game's second prize of $50,000.
They picked up their cheque last week at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. Robinson and Oglan have been playing the lottery together for two years.
"I was out picking up breakfast from across the street. While our food was being prepared, I decided to check our tickets," said Robinson. "The lottery terminal froze, and honestly, I was a little anxious. I immediately called Shelley to tell her what was happening."
The pair plans to travel with the winnings.
Ontario 49 is played on Wednesday and Saturday, with combination play in five, seven, eight, and nine-number selections.
The winning ticket was purchased at a Circle K on Tecumseh Road East in Tecumseh.
