Heavy rain prompts flood watch in Windsor-Essex

The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch for the Windsor-Essex region and its in effect until Thursday at noon.

ERCA's network of weather stations across the region measured 40 mm of rain over the past 24 hours, more in Windsor, Amherstburg, Essex, LaSalle, and northern Tecumseh.

More rain is anticipated on Wednesday.

It encourages residents to stay away from areas that frequently flood like rivers, streams, and shorelines.

Officials will continue to monitor the forecast and adjust its warning as required.
