Windsor police have arrested a 51-year-old man on a Canada-wide driving warrant following a crash on Wednesday morning.
Officers from the Amherstburg detachment were called at around 11 a.m. to Malden Road on a report of a hit-and-run collision. They arrived and found two vehicles with significant damage.
Police learned that a white pickup truck travelling eastbound veered into the westbound lanes and crashed into the two vehicles. The pickup truck drove off despite losing a front tire.
The vehicle was quickly located at Middle Side Road and 2nd Concession Road North, and the driver was arrested.
No one was hurt in the crash.
He is charged with failing to stop after a crash, operating while prohibited, impaired driving, driving with excessive blood alcohol concentration, dangerous driving, and failure to comply with a release order.
The charges have not been proven in court.
The driver was issued a Canada-wide driving ban in May. In July, he was placed under house arrest due to active charges of assault, assault with a weapon, choking, uttering threats, possession of scheduled substance, and failing to comply with a release order.
